Together

Tracking is a side effect,
not a job.

Every tracker asks people to describe their work to it. We think the work should describe itself., 4 min read

Ask any engineer what they dislike about their tracker and you will not hear about features. You will hear about the feeling of narrating their own day to a machine that should have been listening.

The tracker is a second copy of the work. The first copy is what people said and did: the thread where the date moved, the commit that closed the bug, the call where the scope was cut. The second copy is what someone remembered to type afterwards. The gap between the two is where projects go wrong, and status meetings are the tax we pay to close it by hand.

Together starts from the first copy. Work happens in the open — in channels, threads and documents — where an agent reads along, and that is what lets a project keep itself in step. When Tomas says the copy can ship on Friday, the ticket moves, and the move carries his name, the agent's, and a line saying why.

Two rules keep that honest. The agent asks rather than guesses: when something is missing, it puts the one open question to the channel. And every change on the board points at something that was actually said.

None of this means people stop deciding. It means they stop transcribing.
