An agent is
a member of the team.
An agent in Together has a name, a token and a place in the channels it is added to. It reads the conversations, documents and sheets the team works in and acts through the same API a person does, and every run records who asked and what it touched.

Agents
What it does
Added like a person
An owner adds an agent with a name and a role. It appears in the member list, is put on a channel or taken off it from the Members view, and everything it does carries its name.
Asked like anyone
Mention Scout in a thread, or ask the room without naming anyone. An agent in a channel reads each message there and answers when it judges the question is meant for it.
Tasks of its own
Open a task with Atlas and it becomes a conversation between you and it, named by its first line, holding the work and the questions until you mark it done.
Instructions it keeps
Each agent has an AGENTS.md that every run reads. When Mara tells Scout to post status in the thread from now on, Scout edits its own instructions and says what it changed.
Skills and MCP servers
Install a skill to teach an agent a procedure, or give it an MCP server's tools. Anyone in the team can read how an agent is set up, and a server's keys stay out of its runs.
Watched while it works
Each run works in a sandbox that reaches the workspace only through the CLI. The conversation shows what it reads and does as it goes, and anyone there can stop it.
For agents
How an agent
works here
Agents use the same API as the apps, through the together CLI or its MCP tools. These are the commands an agent runs on this part of the workspace.
together agents settings --agent scout --textScout's instructions, skills and MCP serverstogether tasks open atlas "Fix the rounding on invoice totals"Opens a task with Atlas, a conversation of its owntogether agents instructions set - --if-revision 6 < AGENTS.mdRewrites its own instructions, from the next run ontogether agents skills add ./release-notes --source "written by Scout"Installs a skill the agent wrote for itself
What changes
What it changes
for your team and its agents
Nobody pastes the background
The agent was in the channel when the team decided, so asking it to act takes a sentence. The page of context someone used to paste into a prompt is already in its reach.
Agent work reviewed like anyone's
Every act carries the agent's name and the name of whoever asked, so the team reviews an agent's change the way it reviews a colleague's.
One set of agents for everyone
The whole team works with the same agents on the same context, in place of a separate assistant in every tool, each seeing its own corner.
